Treasurer, Board of Directors - Remote Position Harm Reduction Circle, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on reducing overdose & drug-related harm at music festivals, concerts, & other nightlife events, is seeking a Treasurer, Board of Directors to join our team. Our mission is to provide non-judgmental peer education, innovative methods to break down stigma, & empower participants with evidence-based strategies. We also support underserved populations such as homeless individuals, sex workers, & people who use drugs (PWUD) through regional initiatives.

Responsibilities: As the Treasurer, Board of Directors, you will be responsible for conducting the financial affairs of the organization as directed & authorized by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (if any). You will make reports of corporate finances as required, but no less often than at each meeting of the Board of Directors & Executive Committee. The Treasurer is also responsible for ensuring the organization complies with all financial requirements, including legal & regulatory requirements. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience with nonprofit accounting practices, financial reporting, & budgeting.



Requirements:

  • Experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, & budgeting

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail & organizational skills

  • Familiarity with IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) nonprofits is preferred

  • A passion for the mission & vision of the organization


Time Commitment:

Average time commitment of 5-15 hours per month. The treasurer is expected to attend all biannual & special meetings, & fulfill their responsibilities outside of meetings.
