Join the Circle: Volunteering with Harm Reduction Circle
Leadership in Service Guiding Organizational Vision With Integrity, Accountability, and Care
Harm Reduction Circle’s Board of Directors is composed of dedicated leaders who guide the long-term vision, oversight, and strategic growth of the organization. Board members help ensure our work remains ethical, sustainable, evidence-based, and community-driven as we continue expanding programs across Orange County, nightlife settings, and New Hampshire.
In addition to full board positions, HRC offers a Governance Fellows Pathway for emerging leaders who want to build experience in nonprofit governance, policy, fundraising, and organizational development. Fellows receive mentorship while contributing meaningfully to committees, planning, and oversight.
What Board Members & Fellows Support:
- Long-term strategic planning and organizational direction
- Governance, compliance, and ethical oversight
- Fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, and partnership building
- Executive leadership support and accountability
- Financial oversight, budgets, and sustainability planning
- Guidance for new programs, expansions, and policy initiatives
- Community engagement and stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring HRC remains rooted in equity, harm reduction, and lived experience
What We're Looking For:
We welcome individuals who bring one or more of the following:
Public health, harm reduction, SUD/SYR services, or peer-support experience
Nonprofit leadership, finance, law, governance, or compliance background
Experience with partnerships, civic engagement, or municipal collaboration
Fundraising, grant writing, or development expertise
Community organizing or lived/living experience in harm reduction
Commitment to evidence-based, stigma-free, trauma-informed care
Governance Fellows Program:
Our fellows-in-training pathway is designed for emerging leaders who want hands-on governance experience without stepping immediately into a board role. Fellows serve on committees, attend board trainings, and develop leadership skills — preparing them for future board service.
If you believe in advancing health, dignity, and safety through harm reduction and want to contribute at the governance level, we welcome your interest.
