The Story of Harm Reduction Circle

Harm Reduction Circle was founded in 2021 by four individuals who shared a passion for harm reduction and a desire to make a positive impact in the community. Annastasia Rose Beal, Hannah Rose Halbers, Emma Webb, and Dylan Waller witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of Fentanyl-laced substances in the nightlife scene, particularly in southern California. They recognized a gap in harm reduction resources at music festivals, concerts, and other events, and were determined to make a difference.

These four friends founded Harm Reduction Circle as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to reduce overdose and other drug-related harm. They believed in the importance of peer education, breaking down stigma, and empowering individuals with evidence-based strategies to make informed decisions about their health and safety. Since its inception, the organization has grown to become a leading provider of harm reduction services, with a particular focus on training individuals on how to use naloxone.

Harm Reduction Circle has trained over 13,000 individuals on how to use naloxone, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, and has shipped over 8,700 packages of Narcan and other life-saving resources. The organization has distributed over 26,000 doses of Narcan, and in 2022 alone, confirmed 170 overdose reversals, demonstrating the tangible impact of their work.

The organization is dedicated to not only supporting the nightlife community, but also to serving underserved populations, such as homeless individuals, sex workers, and people who use drugs, through regional initiatives. Harm Reduction Circle is committed to its vision of a world without drug-related harm, and continues to strive towards this goal every day.

Annastasia Rose Beal, Hannah Rose Halbers, Emma Webb, and Dylan Waller are the passionate and dedicated individuals behind Harm Reduction Circle. They believe that harm reduction is an essential component of addressing the overdose crisis and reducing drug-related harm. Their commitment to this cause has led them to found an organization that has made a significant impact in the community. Their hope is that their work will continue to inspire others to take action towards creating a safer and more compassionate world for all.
